Cinderella is a timeless classic that audiences — particularly die-hard Disney princess fans — know and love, and we’re going to see the story unfold once more with this fairytale retelling directed by Kay Cannon. This time around, our glass-slipper-wearing protagonist is being played by Cuban-American pop sensation Camila Cabello.
Whether or not they’re a fan of her music, everyone knows Cabello has the voice to match the musical talent expected of Cinderella. However, this will be her film debut and first acting role, so fans are wondering what it will be like to see her embody one of the most iconic Disney princesses of all time. Well, we may not have any trailers or clips to go off of yet, but Entertainment Weekly just released first look pictures of Cabello as Cinderella.
In the first photo, Cabello is seen in what looks to be Cinderella’s chambers. She’s surrounded by fabrics and unfinished dresses as well. It’s safe to guess that this is probably the scene where we get to see Cinderella making her dress for Prince’s ball.
Then there’s this shot of Cinderella with her Prince, who is played by Nicholas Galitzine. The photo shows the couple donned in formal wear in what must be a scene that takes place at the ball where they first meet. While you can’t get much from a still, there definitely seems to be chemistry between the two lovebirds and we can’t wait to see their romance in action!
There is no official release date yet for Cinderella, but it will definitely be premiering within 2021. More specifically, it is reportedly set to arrive sometime in the fall via streaming on Amazon Prime in addition to a theatrical release.
