After a successful digital run in 2020, the hit Boy’s Love (BL) web series, “Hello Stranger,” is returning as a full-length feature film. The best part? It’s premiering just days before Valentine’s Day.

“Hello Stranger: The Movie” sees Xavier (Tony Labrusca) and Mico (JC Alcantara) extend their digital romance into the real world by joining a writing camp in a dreamy beach resort. There, they deal with finally being around each other after only interacting online before.

However, things don’t go as smoothly as expected. Xavier seems to have “friend-zoned” Mico, and Mico seems to have met a new romantic interest in Simon (Markus Peterson), and Xavier’s ex-girlfriend, Crystal (Gillian Vicencio), is also part of the writing camp. Just like in all budding romantic relationships, things are, as they say, complicated.

“XavMi” is joined by their OG friends from the web series. Kookai (Vivoree Esclito), Seph (Patrick Quiroz), and Junjun (Miguel Almendras). They are joined by newcomers Jin Macapagal, Dionne Monsanto, and Markus Peterson.

“Hello Stranger: The Movie” is helmed by Dwein Ruedas-Baltazar, who also directed 2018’s award-winning “Oda sa Wala” and wrote the screenplay for the gut-wrenching romantic film, “Exes Baggage” in 2018. It is produced by ABS-CBN Film’s Black Sheep and will be the production company’s first-ever BL movie to premiere during the Valentine season.

The film is a sequel to the eight-part BL web series which ran from June 24 to August 19 last year. The series garnered more than a million viewers per episode which streamed on Black Sheep’s official YouTube and Facebook pages, making it the most-watched BL series of 2020.
