Are we going to see Troy and Gabriella too?
We’re about to see some familiar faces in High School Musical: The Musical: The Series season 4.
Alyson Reed, Bart Johnson, and Monique Coleman will reprise their roles in the series, following an announcement from Disney last Friday. The three actors join fellow cast members Corbin Bleu, Kaycee Stroh, and Lucas Grabeel. They have been on the show before and will all be back next season.
The official release describes that “plans are disrupted when Principal Gutierrez announces that Disney has decided to make the long-awaited High School Musical 4: The Reunion movie on location at their beloved high school.”
The upcoming HSM reunion might be a problem for Ricky, Gina, and the rest of the HSMTMTS characters. Season 4 will focus on the students staging a production of High School Musical 3: Senior Year.
What about Troy and Gabriella?
Both Zac and Vanessa recently posted photos in front of East High in Salt Lake City. It was the original set used for the production of the HSM trilogy and is currently used for HSMTMTS. Due to the pictures posted, fans speculate that they will appear on the show as surprise guests.
Last year, executive producer Tim Federle commented on the Troy and Gabrielle comeback.
“I would be lying to you if I said that there’s some big Zac and Vanessa plan at this point,” he said. “I’ve been hammering away at this quietly and slowly for years. As long as this show is on the air, I will not sleep until Zac, Vanessa, Ashley, and Monique do the series in some way. It is all in the works, but I would not hold your breath for a big appearance in season 3.”
He may have given us a hint about Hudgens and Efron’s involvement in the Disney+ series. But we’ll have to wait for a solid confirmation before getting too excited.
