Fans of the K-Pop group, called MIDZY, have a lot to look forward to this July!
K-Pop girl group ITZY is about to get a whole lot busier. They’re making a comeback with a new album and world tour!
Under JYP Entertainment, the group’s members are Chaeryong, Lia, Ryujin, Yeji, and Yuna. They made their debut back in February of 2019. They’re best known for hits like “Dalla Dalla” and “Mafia in the Morning.”
CHECKMATE and Bench
At the beginning of June, the girls revealed their latest album will bear the title CHECKMATE. It will drop on July 15. Teasers started rolling out on June 6. These included concept photos, a poster, and a sneak peek at the title track.
This is ITZY’s first album in almost a year, following their September 2021 release. It was their first full-length album, entitled Crazy in Love.
Their world tour is the very first one, also named CHECKMATE. It starts in Seoul, South Korea with a two-night concert on August 6 and 7.
MIDZY (a play on ‘ITZY’ and the Korean word for trust) has been waiting for a comeback ever since last year. Filipino MIDZY are in for an extra-special treat. The girls recently signed on to be the newest brand endorsers of Bench!
The Filipino brand posted an announcement on Instagram, with a caption that read, in part: “Ting! Ting! Ting! You guessed it right! Meet our newest #GlobalBENCHSetter.”
It accompanied a video of all five girls slaying their Bench looks. Bench is best known for outfits that are comfortable yet stylish.
ITZY goes global
After the kick-off in their home country of South Korea, ITZY starts their world tour in the United States. Throughout October and November, they will be having concerts across several states.
This includes Arizona (Phoenix), California (Los Angeles), Georgia (Atlanta), Illinois (Chicago), Massachusetts (Boston), and New York City (New York).

That said, as it’s a world tour, JYP Entertainment has already given fans assurance. More tour dates and locations will be announced later on.
