You’ll see a very different Ivana in this show!
Ivana Alawi is set to make a splash in her first Kapamilya teleserye as a lead actress, A Family Affair.

Helmed by Jerome Pobocan and Raymund Ocampo, it revolves around Ivana’s character, Cherryred. She’ll catch the eye of the Estrella brothers. They’re played by Gerald Anderson, Jake Ejercito, Jameson Blake, and Sam Milby.
In a mediacon earlier today, FreebieMNL asked Ivana for her thoughts on this project. “I was so excited nung pinitch siya sa akin. Sabi ko nga, ‘story pa lang, OK na ako diyan.’ Ang ganda-ganda niya, eh,” she says.
Ivana emphasizes that A Family Affair is not your typical family drama. “It’s mysterious, sexy, thrilling, lahat. Kaya it’s a very exciting show.”
She has been out of the acting game for a while. Ivana Alawi was last seen on Sino ang Maysala?: Mea Culpa in 2019. A Family Affair marks her first television appearance in three years.
She encountered some obstacles. Aside from being her comeback, it’s also her first time leading a series. Ergo, she had to do a lot of heavy lifting, acting-wise.
“Nahirapan ako sa mga iyakan! Kasi dati pag umiyak ako, pabebe lang. Ngayon, dahil drama siya, you have to do well kaya na-pressure ako,” she admits.
But it wasn’t all that hard for Ivana to get into her character’s shoes. She and her character both love their families very much. Anyone who watches Ivana’s vlogs knows how important her family is to her. The same is true for Cherryred. That made it easier for Ivana to understand and internalize her character.
