Jameson Blake Shares Thoughts On Hosting, Taking Mature Roles In The Future

“I’m open if the story’s nice,” says Jameson on doing mature roles again

Star Magic talent and PIE Channel jock Jameson Blake has reeled off his career line longer as he envisions more hosting jobs and possibly more mature roles in the foreseeable future.

The 25-year-old actor has shared his thoughts on venturing deeper into hosting and taking daring roles during PIE Channel’s PIEsta PIEnalo Grand Mall Show At TriNoma Activity Center on June 3, 2023.

Jameson, who regularly appears on PIE Channel as a host of “The Chosen One” with Karina Bautista, shares with FreebieMNL that hosting for a PIE program has played out to be his “training ground.”

He also says that he sees it as a way to help him “in speaking better, speaking more Tagalog, basta speaking in general. So, malaking tulong din siya sa akin.”

This comes with the decision to tweak his interests for a while, sort of “relax,” and change image after being heavily immersed in acting for a year.

“I decided to venture out to different stuff, even my management was suggesting that I try it out. Actually, parang dito I was thinking twice talaga, e. I wanted to do it, pero at the same time, I wanted to try something new,” he shares.

Jameson emphasizes he’ll do hosting for at least two months before getting back to acting.

Is Jameson willing to take more mature roles?

FreebieMNL has also made a quick pleasantry of asking Jameson if his recent “daring” photos on Instagram are some sort of preparation for mature roles.

He replies, “Open naman ako sa ganyan, I’m not closing my doors. If you guys noticed, I’ll play as a boy-next-door for now and, [the] next project, I’ll be showing my butt.

“To answer your question, possibly. I guess, pwede naman. I’m open if the story’s nice, and if I’m ready to do it, I will do it naman,” he adds.

It can be recalled that Jameson debuted in the acting scene with the CinemaOne Originals 2017 entry, “2 Cool 2 Be Forgotten.”

While Jameson has had some background in doing a Boys Love (BL) film via 2021’s “My Lockdown Romance,” he mentions that the thought of doing another LGBTQ-themed film has not crossed his mind yet.

As he puts it, the screenplay will dictate his willingness to do it. However, his reservations lie in the fact that he does not want to be typecast to one role only.

Ako, kung maganda yung story, I will do it naman. I mean, I’m not super against it pero noong time before when I did ‘My Lockdown Romance,’ I just wanted to do that muna,” he shares.
