BLACKPINK’s Jisoo Debuts First Solo Music Video With Several “Easter Eggs”

Jisoo’s first solo music video has garnered 71 million views three days since its launch

Jisoo had a “ME” time for her solo debut.

While Jisoo is the last BLACKPINK member to release solo music, she nevertheless made the most out of it by debuting not just one but two songs. Included in her solo EP “ME” is the title track “FLOWER” and “ALL EYES ON ME.”

Even while currently on “Born Pink World Tour” the official BLACKPINK visual released the EP at the stroke of midnight on March 31, 2023.

Jisoo’s FLOWER” music video

Just a few days after its launch, the “FLOWER” music video has already raked in 71 million views. Blinks, also known as BLACKPINK’s official fanbase, described the song as an “addictive song with stunning visuals.”

Turns out, Jisoo was very much involved in the entire creative process of the album, according to allkpop. Her active participation has left her fans—known as Sooyas—with several easter eggs to enjoy while watching the three-minute video.

‘Everything Everywhere All At Once’ with Jisoo

Jisoo’s music video provided fans with an “Everything Everywhere All at Once” style chronology that made the entire video feel even more cinematic. Her acting skills also helped sell the changing timelines as she portrayed different emotions and did changes in styling to help distinguish each section.

Constant Integration of flowers

While some of the flowers appearing in the music video are understandably prominent, other designs are more subtle, like when they’re included in Jisoo’s outfits or hidden behind other, more prominent flower designs.

Peppered with parallelisms

Quite interestingly, Jisoo’s music video showed parallelism to the previous title solo MVs of her co-BLACKPINK members.

In both Lisa‘s solo “LALISA” and Jisoo’s “FLOWER,” the two idols can be seen walking away from the camera before turning to face it and showing off their confidence and power.

Meanwhile, Jisoo, like Rosé in “On The Ground,” also threw flowers and stared in front of a mirror.

Finally, Jennie’s famous dance segment inside a ballroom in “SOLO” also had a similar version in Jisoo’s “FLOWER.”

Jisoo, along with Jennie, Lisa, and Rosé, are currently in Asia, having completed 14 shows in North America and 10 shows in Europe.

The group is set to make a record-setting headline performance at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival this April, which will see them becoming the first all-female K-pop group to perform at the famous fest. This would be followed by a date with the Hyde Park British Summer Time Festival in July.
