Kim Chiu has waxed nostalgic following her recent “ASAP” birthday performance.
April proves to be an important month for Kim Chiu as she celebrates both her birthday and showbiz anniversary during this month. But the celebration and reflection have kickstarted early for Chiu following her birthday dance number in “ASAP Natin ‘To” on April 16, 2023.
Chiu dominated the dance floor together with G-Force, AC Bonifacio, Maymay Entrata, Gab Valenciano, and members of Hori7on.
“I am just very grateful sa lahat ng mga opportunities na binibigay ng ABS-CBN sa akin, mapa-singing, dancing, acting, lahat ng pwede kong pasukan. Ina-allow nila ako to try different things and to explore,” she says after her show-stopping segment,.
Chiu, touted by ABS-CBN as “Chinita Princess,” has turned 33 today, April 19, 2023.
Kim Chiu’s packed 2023
After her successful hosting stint on “Dream Maker” and with her upcoming title soap “Linlang” in the works, 2023 is bound to be a busy one for the “ ASAP” and “It’s Showtime” mainstay.
This year marks Chiu’s 17th year in the business.
“Marami po akong baong pasabog at regalo para sa lahat ng mga sumusuporta sa akin. Kaya tutok lang po, magugulat kayo, matutuwa kayo, makikiiyak kayo. I am just very happy to have my fans for 16 years. Nandiyan pa rin sila to support me,” Chiu shares.
But her nostalgia did not stop there as Chiu takes to her Instagram account to recall that she used to be shy and unequipped to perform onstage. But she underscores that her “ASAP” family has been there for her since day one.
“Even if I didn’t know how to do all this stuff to entertain the viewers, they believed in me and that I could do this; seeing my supporters smiling while I was performing made me know the purpose of why I was here,” Chiu explains.
In the end, Chiu expresses her gratitude to her “ASAP” family for teaching her the confidence that she has right now, a trait that has allowed her to grow as a performer and as a host.
