Sorry, simps. Guess it’s time just to be happy for them.
Kyedae “Kyedae” Shymko revealed on her Twitter account that she and professional Valorant player, Tyson “TenZ” Ngo, are about to tie the knot. Can you believe it? One of the most iconic gaming couples is now engaged!
Kyedae and TenZ made their social media debut in 2020. Since then, supporters were adamant about knowing how they met and why they got engaged. Since it’s gamer culture to embrace the single life, naturally fans were very curious and pumped about the news.
“So, we were hanging around a lot already. Like, every day. Then we were just laying on the couch, and he asked me, ‘Will you officially be my girlfriend now?’” shares Kyedae. “‘Cause he asked me a few times, and I just wanted to get to know him better,” she adds. Little did she know that TenZ would become “the love of [her] life.”
Following CONQuest Festival 2022, Kyedea broke the news on Twitter.

To forever with you, my love. I couldn’t be happier to grow old with my favourite human being ? pic.twitter.com/EPmSTxg6cv
Riot Games’ ”Valorant” has become popular since its release. And since TenZ is a well-known professional player, there was no doubt that fans would freak out over the news.

Kyedae and TenZ revealed they had actually been engaged for eight months, but only chose to make it public recently. Fittingly, they shared the news with everyone on their third anniversary.
If you were at CONQuest Festival 2022, you might have spotted Kyedae sporting an engagement ring. This confirms the story of their engagement happening months before the post.
Like most gamers, TenZ “completely gave up on getting a girlfriend,” because he “was so content with being an esports player, living [his] life like that. Life changes pretty quick.” Little did he know that Kyedae, despite not knowing much about gaming, had a huge crush on him at the time.
It comes to show that there is love waiting for everyone out there. This news should inspire other gamers to get out and touch some grass once in a while.
