REDEEM VOUCHERS

Embattled Star Amber Heard’s ‘Aquaman 2’ Role Has Been Greatly Reduced

It’s official, she’s no longer a major player in the movie.

Amber Heard finally got hers.

According to Variety, the new script for Aquaman 2 has a lot less of her character Mera in it. Heard was working on the movie during her trial against ex-husband Johnny Depp. But when Depp’s camp called her a liar, Warner Bros. stopped communicating with Heard.

A petition to remove her from the film reached almost 4.2 million signatures. At first, producers said they wouldn’t let public opinion influence their creative decisions. But it seems the petition did have a certain effect after all.

Amber Heard allegations declared a hoax

Heard received the new, shorter script after Depp’s team called her allegations a hoax. In return, she accused Depp of being an abusive husband.

The trial is still ongoing, and they are now in the cross-examination phase. Heard has tried to gain sympathy from the jury by crying on the stand. But the trial is swinging in Johnny Depp’s favor, as all the evidence continues to implicate Heard. More and more people are also coming out in support of Depp.

In the meantime, Heard is still fighting tooth and nail for more screentime in Aquaman 2. She’s also looking for more work. Heard recently nabbed roles in thrillers Into The Fire and Run Away With Me. Both are set to go into production soon.

As of today, Heard said that she couldn’t renegotiate her contract. She also isn’t sure whether the scenes she managed to shoot will make the final cut. She’ll be back on the stand today and will be cross-examined by Depp’s lawyer Camille Vasquez.
