Will it be connected to ‘The Spider-Verse’ trilogy?
Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) has exciting plans for the “Spider-Man” franchise.
Following two “The Spider-Verse” films, the company plans to produce a live-action movie about Miles Morales.
This development was confirmed by producer Amy Pascal to Variety Magazine, stating, “You’ll see all of it. It’s all happening.”
In “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse,” Miles Morales (voiced by Shameik Moore) and Gwen Stacy’s Spider-Woman (voiced by Hailee Steinfeld) journey into the Spider-Verse where they encounter different groups of Spider-People.
They also face off against The Spot (voiced by Jason Schwartzmann), a formidable villain with interdimensional portals embedded in his body.
Sony remains tightlipped about a live-action Spider-Verse movie. Tom Rothman, SPE chairman and chief executive officer, evaded queries, saying, “If I told you, I’d have to kill you.”
On top of the Miles Morales project, Sony is also gearing up for a Spider-Woman movie. While specific details about the film are scarce, producer Avi Arad assured fans that it is in the works.
“I cannot tell you yet, but it’s coming,” he said.
Pascal further disclosed that a fourth “Spider-Man” film featuring reel and real-life couple Tom Holland and Zendaya is being developed. However, it has been temporarily halted due to the ongoing writers’ strike.
“Are we going to make another movie? Of course, we are… We’re in the process, but… nobody is working during the strike,” Pascal said.
“We’re all being supporters, and whenever they get themselves together, we’ll get started.”
With a live-action Miles Morales movie, Spider-Woman on the horizon, and the completion of the animated trilogy, Sony’s Spider-Man universe continues to expand, offering Spider-Fans around the world many thrilling adventures to look forward to.
