Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil caught in one photo after breakup report
On May 30, Ogie Diaz announced on his YouTube vlog that Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil have called it quits.
Ogie, Liza’s former manager, mentioned that the break-up rumors stemmed from Liza’s recent controversial statements.
Ogie said she never mentioned Enrique Gil in her interviews and that the lack of Liza’s birthday greeting for Enrique did not help.
”Actually, nakarating din sa ‘kin ‘yan na split na o break na sina Enrique Gil at Liza Soberano. Parang nag-ugat ito sa mga pronouncement o naging statement o mga nakaraang interviews ni Liza, never niyang binanggit si Enrique Gil,” he said.
Liza and Enrique gained fame as the “LizQuen” love team after their teleserye, “Forevermore,” was as success in 2014.
They continued to captivate audiences with their on-screen chemistry in subsequent TV shows such as “Dolce Amore,” “Bagani,” and “Make It with You.” The duo also starred together in several films, including “She’s The One,” “Just The Way You Are,” “Everyday I Love You,” “My Ex and Whys,” and “Alone/Together.”
Ogie also shared in his vlog that Liza didn’t post anything online during Enrique’s birthday. He noted that the absence of any online greetings from Liza on Enrique’s birthday further fueled speculation about their relationship status.
“‘Tapos nung birthday ni Enrique, wala rin greeting online. Pero nanatiling nananahimik sila pareho sa isyung ito. Parang ‘yun na lang ang konklusyon ng karamihan, lalo na ng mga sumusubaybay sa LizQuen, kung wala na ba talaga sila,” Ogie added.
As for the reason for the break-up, Liza’s former manager revealed it was her decision. He said Liza called it quits to focus on her US acting career.
“Ang nakarating sa atin, hiwalay na sina Enrique Gil at Liza Soberano. Hindi ko alam kung pareho nilang gusto ‘yun pero ang nakarating sa atin ay choice ni Liza na tutukan muna ang kanyang career programming, kaya wala na raw,” Ogie said.
“Ang nakarating sa atin ay si Enrique Gil ‘yung nagpu-push pa na baka kaya, na baka posible pa ring maituloy, pwede naman niyang i-allow si Liza kung ang gusto ni Liza, na ito pa rin ang kanyang Hollywood dream pero sila pa rin,” he added.
Aside from announcing the news, Ogie expressed his remorse for the love team he has supported for eight years. “Nakakalungkot ito dahil ako ‘yung tipong tingin ko sa kanila nung kami pa ni Liza ang manager-talent, ang ganda ng relasyon nila, e, pero ewan ko siguro, hindi nga natin alam kung anong mangyayari bukas, e,” he said.
Is John Soberano’s post abut Ogie?
Liza and Enrique haven’t responded to Ogie’s statements.
However, Liza’s father, John Soberano, broke his silence on the controversy.
He wrote (published as is), “Kaya dumadami taong mga nag vlaVlog kasi dami mga oto oto…maski wala naman hard facts pinapatulan,” he said in a Facebook post.

Amid Ogie Diaz’s report that Liza and Enrique have broken up, the two were seen in a photo recently uploaded on Instagram.
The post was from Maquie Raquiza Sarmiento, Liza’s former road manager at Star Magic. The post was just uploaded yesterday, May 31, and seemed to have been taken during her recent visit to the Philippines. Maquie is now based in New York.
Fans are using the photo as proof that Liza and Enrique are still together.
At press time, Liza and Enrique have yet to speak about their reported breakup.
