Lizzo is an award-winning musician who has always advocated for the representation and celebration of bigger body types, and now she has the chance to take it one step further. In her upcoming reality TV series, Lizzo will be searching for big women to join her team of dancers and models for her performances.
There isn’t a title or release date for the series yet, but we know that Amazon Studios will be producing it.
In an Instagram video of herself addressing her fans, Lizzo says, “Where are all the big girls? That’s what I want to know. So, me and Amazon are going to find out! I’m developing an unscripted show with Amazon to find my next crew of big girl dancers and models.”
In the caption she writes, “Are you a full figured dancer or model? Have you felt underrepresented and under appreciated? THEN I’M LOOKIN FOR YOU!” She adds, “It’s time to find my dream team of beautifully talented big grrrls and @amazonstudios is helping ya grrrl on this journey!”
When her single “Truth Hurts” dominated the charts and was the anthem people couldn’t get enough of back in 2019, Lizzo became the performer to look out for. Since her rise to fame, she has won Grammy awards, been named Time’s 2019 Entertainer of the Year, and has fiercely advocated for making the body positivity movement more inclusive.
While we still don’t know much about the show, we love seeing an artist using her fame to uplift and give opportunities to other “big grrrls” in the entertainment industry!
