Marian Rivera will play an alien in her comeback teleserye!
Marian Rivera and Gabby Concepcion are finally working on a teleserye together.
Marian and Gabby attended the story conference of their upcoming project titled “Against All Odds” yesterday, June 6, 2023.
Aside from Marian and Gabby, the series will also feature Max Collins, Gabby Eigenmann, Kiray Celis, Buboy Villar, Raphael Landicho, Tart Carlos, and Sparkle newbies Caitlyn Stave and Josh Ford.
Based on 24 Oras’ report about the story conference, Marian will play dual characters, with one being a real person and the other, an alien.
“Na-excite ako kung paano ko gagawin yung character niya as an alien. Siyempre, bago ‘to sa akin, first time kong gagawin. So, pag-aaralan naming mabuti kung paano yung magiging itsura niya as an alien,” says Marian about her new role.
The project serves as Marian’s comeback project after her last teleserye, “Super Ma’am,” which aired from 2017 to 2018.
“Against All Odds” also marks Marian and Gabby’s first team-up together.
In 2020, they were supposed to star in the prime-time series “First Yaya.” However, Marian decided to back out of the project because of the pandemic. At the time, lock-in tapings were still the protocol in filming series and Marian could not leave yet her two young children.
Marian was then replaced by Sanya Lopez in the project.
On an Instagram post, Gabby expresses his excitement that his team-up with Marian is finally pushing through.
At press time, Gabby is still taping for the upcoming afternoon series “Stolen Life” with Carla Abellana and Beauty Gonzalez.
GMA-7 has yet to reveal more details about Marian’s teleserye comeback.
