After Sherlock’s shrewd little sister stole the spotlight last year, streaming site Netflix has revealed that the Holmes siblings will return for Enola Holmes 2.

Millie Bobby Brown and Henry Cavill reprise their roles as Enola and Sherlock Holmes in the follow-up film that’s based on Nancy Springer’s Edgar Award-nominated young adult series, The Enola Holmes Mysteries. Returning to the director’s chair is Fleabag’s Harry Bradbeer, with Jack Thorne once again penning the film’s script. The sequel will be produced by Legendary in partnership with Netflix.

Brown celebrated the sequel announcement with a subtle Instagram post whose caption only read: “the sequel is afoot.” She previously told Entertainment Weekly during the wake of the first film, which also marks her first producing credit, that she loves how the book series lets her “continually play the role of Enola Holmes.”

I really am optimistic about the future. I’m so looking forward to getting back to work,” Brown said. “”Ultimately, this has been my favorite thing that I’ve ever done in my life. So to do it all over again would be a dream.”

The first Enola Holmes films centered on the childhood and growth of the youngest member of the Holmes family, who, unlike her siblings, spent her childhood in a secluded countryside manor with her outlandish mother, Eudoria (Helena Bonham Carter). Having been raised and taught by Eudoria through unconventional methods, Enola would then turn into a quick-witted super-sleuth who helps solve a conspiracy of a missing Marquess (Louis Patridge).

Now that the filmmakers have dodged their past copyright disputes with the Conan Doyle estate over their depiction of Sherlock Holmes, we can expect this Enola Holmes sequel to be even more mind-blowing (and mind-boggling) than the first one.
