Miranda Cosgrove Recreates Iconic Meme For “iCarly” Reboot Opening Sequence

If we had to describe the opening sequence of the iCarly” reboot in one word, it would definitely be “interesting.”

Eight seconds into the new title sequence for “iCarly,” we spotted Miranda Cosgrove doing something that fans of Nickelodeon and anyone who loves memes will recognize. And although it’s not originally from “iCarly,” it was from another well-loved Nickelodeon show from the 2000s!

Miranda, who portrayed Megan Parker in the Nickelodeon series “Drake & Josh” before landing her role as Carly Shay in “iCarly,” recreated a meme from the older show featuring her pre-teen self.

She even posted a photo showing both the 2006 and 2021 versions on Instagram and we love her even more for it!

The original photo shows her character Megan holding a soda can while smirking at a computer screen. In the “Drake & Josh” episode where this photo is from, Megan searched for different types of skin diseases and their symptoms so she could make her brother Drake think he was sick. Once she had her plans set, she said “interesting” out loud–and that’s how the meme was born.

The opening sequence also features the original “iCarly” theme song and her co-stars Jerry Trainor, Nathan Kress, Laci Mosley, and Jaidyn Triplett. The show will already premiere this week on Paramount+ and the first three episodes will be available on June 17, 2021.
