Miss World Philippines’ Coronation Night Postponed

The Miss World Philippines 2021 coronation night has been rescheduled for a second time.

The coronation night for the prestigious national pageant was originally set to happen on July 11, but it was postponed to July 25 since the initial date would have coincided with the Binibining Pilipinas 2021 pageant.

The event was soon moved to August 8 in order to comply with the updated guidelines from the IATF (Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases).

“In compliance with the reimposition of the IATF’s heightened GCQ restrictions, the Miss World Philippines Organization is rescheduling the forthcoming Miss World Philippines coronation night originally scheduled this coming Sunday, July 25, at Okada Manila, to August 8, same venue.”

However, the event had to be moved again due to IATF’s latest mandate for ‘stricter ECQ restrictions’ from August 6-20, 2021.

“In compliance with the government and IATF’s new mandate for stricter ECQ restrictions in the NCR from August 6-20 due to the alarming upsurge in COVID-19 cases caused by the Delta variant, the Miss World Philippines Organization has decided to postpone its coronation night until further notice,” the organization announced on social media.

Seven titles left

The remaining 44 candidates of the Miss World Philippines pageant will be competing for one of the seven titles to be given on coronation night: Miss World Philippines, Miss Eco Philippines, Miss Eco Teen Philippines, Miss Environment Philippines, Miss Multinational Philippines, Miss Tourism Philippines, and Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas.

The Miss Supranational Philippines title was also initially set to be given on the same day, but Dindi Pajares was already crowned ahead of the event. With this decision, our representative will have more time to prepare for the upcoming international pageant, which will be held on August 21.

According to the Miss World Philippines National Director Arnold Vegafria, Dindi bagged the title after receiving the most number of votes from her fellow candidates.

“To my MWP sisters, I may not be your Candidate #22 anymore but I will always be there to support all of you in your journey,” Dindi posted on Instagram. “Let us continue to inspire people to dream and believe that everything is possible.”
