The series, which takes place in varying environments like Hawaii and Tokyo, features a handful of strangers who choose to live together under one roof. There, they date, go to work, and get into the occasional argument and even leave the house when they feel that it’s time. With its peaceful ambience and quiet interactions between housemates, Terrace House has proved that there’s no other show quite like it.

The goal of the show is to create a couple that lasts, as more contestants are added and “recoupling” takes place.
