A concert film featuring all the songs from Billie Eilish‘s sophomore album will debut on Disney+ in September 2021. Named “Happier Than Ever: A Love Letter To Los Angeles,” the unique concert experience will feature Billie performing at the 17,500-seat amphitheater Hollywood Bowl.
Although there was no audience present to watch Billie’s live performances, the 19-year-old singer was accompanied by her brother and fellow musician Finneas, Brazilian guitarist Romero Lubambothe, the Los Angeles Children’s Chorus, and the Los Angeles Philharmonic. The orchestra arrangements were made by David Campbell and conducted by Gustavo Dudamel.
“I’ve never done anything like this, it was the most surreal shoot ever,” Billie posted on Instagram. “I cannot wait for you to experience this film.”
“Happier Than Ever: A Love Letter To Los Angeles” was helmed by Robert Rodriguez and award-winning director Patrick Osborne. The show, which includes animated elements and backdrops from Billie’s hometown, will premiere on the streaming platform Disney+ on September 3, 2021.
“Disney is incredibly iconic, so to collaborate on something like this is a huge honor,” Billie said. “To be able to present my album in this way and dedicate it to the city that I love and grew up in is so exciting to me. I hope you love it.”
