Bob Odenkirk back to work after heart attack scare

Here’s some good news for Better Call Saul and Breaking Bad fans, Bob Odenkirk is back filming the sixth season of his hit show. As per GMA News Online, the 58-year old was reported to have been rushed to a Los Angeles hospital after collapsing on set. Sometime later, the American actor confirmed it was a ‘small heart attack.’

Six weeks later, Odenkirk is back in action. He posted a photo of himself getting his makeup done on Twitter, saying he was “back to work.” “Back to work on Better Call Saul!  So happy to be here and living this specific life surrounded by such good people.  BTW this is makeup pro Cheri Montesanto making me not ugly for shooting!,” he captioned in his post.

The show’s social media accounts celebrated his big return with a photo of him labeled “you can’t keep a good man down!”

Now fans can sigh with relief as the actor is currently in production for the sixth season of the Breaking Bad prequel show, Better Call Saul. The show introduced Odenkirk as Saul Goodman, the sharp-witted criminal defense lawyer for the show’s protagonist, played by Bryan Cranston.

Basically, it follows his journey from a two-bit scam artist turned struggling public defender named Jimmy McGill into the morally conflicted attorney Saul Goodman, who ultimately makes a career representing drug traffickers and underworld figures.

The final season of the show is slated for a 2022 release. However, there might be delays due to the actor’s health scare and COVID delays. “I don’t know. Because of the COVID delays, and then Bob’s heart attack and recovery, I have zero idea when or how the episodes will be aired,” the show’s executive producer Thomas Schnauz said. Well, the wait will surely be worth it.
