Hulu’s original series “Only Murders in the Building” is getting a second season and a new cast member!
Lead stars Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez will be returning as their characters Charles-Haden Savage, Oliver Putnam, and Mabel Mora after a cliffhanger ending for season one. They will also be joined by Cara Delevingne who will play Alice, “a sophisticated art world insider who becomes enmeshed in the mystery,” according to Deadline.
True crime podcast
The first season of “Only Murders in the Building” follows the story of neighbors Charles, Oliver, and Mabel, fans of the true crime podcast called “All Is Not OK in Oklahoma.” After a mysterious murder happens in their building, the three of them start to investigate and create their own podcast to find out who is responsible for the crime.
Other stars in the show include Aaron Dominguez (Oscar), Amy Ryan (Jan), Julian Cihi (Tim Kono), Tina Fey (Cinda Canning), Da’Vine Joy Randolph (Detective Williams), Jayne Houdyshell (Bunny), Nathan Lane (Teddy Dimas), and James Caverly (Theo Dimas).
“I’m so proud and beyond excited for y’all to watch this one. I hope you have as much fun watching it as we had making,” Selena posted on Instagram when the show premiered in August 2021.
In September, the show was officially renewed for a second season after being named as the most-watched original comedy series on the streaming platform.
“‘Only Murders in the Building’ reflects the kind of creative excellence that is the hallmark of Hulu Originals,” Craig Erwich, the President of ABC Entertainment and Hulu Originals, said.
“The audience’s response to the delightful blend of mystery, humor, and emotion in the show has been overwhelming and we can’t wait to follow this unlikely trio on their next adventure.”
