Celebrate 20 Years of Harry Potter Movies this November

The first Harry Potter film, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, was released in November 2001, marking the 20th anniversary of the franchise. The entire novel adaptation spanned eight films and concluded a decade later with The Deathly Hallows: Part 2. Celebrations have been ongoing since August, which involves digital festivities that the Wizarding World Team has organized.

20 Years of Movie Magic

To kickstart the celebration, quizzes, craft videos, puzzles, and features were published on the 20 Years of Movie Magic hub. Things were on a roll as they prepared for the Back to Hogwarts day on September 1, and fans were invited to join the countdown for the Hogwarts Express departure.  The event was hosted by celebrity DJ and Potterhead Yinka Bokinni, with a special guest appearance from Tom Felton who played Draco Malfoy in the movies.

The Magic Continues

This month, fans can revisit the films on Cartoon Network and watch a four-part Wizarding World event on HBO GO beginning on November 13 at 8 PM. Every other weekend until Christmas day, there will be a Harry Potter movie to look forward to on Cartoon Network (Skycable Ch 43 SD/178 HD and Cignal Ch 74 SD/220 HD), from The Sorcerer’s Stone to The Goblet of Fire. The rest will premiere on the channel in early 2022. All the films are also available for viewing on HBO GO.

Hogwarts Tournament of Houses

On November 29, the first episode of “Harry Potter: Hogwarts Tournament of Houses” will stream exclusively on HBO GO. It’s presented by award-winning actress Helen Mirren and includes special guest stars and enchanting prizes. Contestants are sorted into their respective houses and get quizzed on their Wizarding World knowledge.

Viewers will also be able to join in on the fun as the team is also hosting an upcoming Quiz Championship on WizardingWorld.com. Details have yet to be announced, but you can get ahead of the game and find out which house you are in the official Sorting Ceremony.
