During its launch, Cinema Centenario said that the virtual platform will continue to carry their “brand of curation,” featuring films that would otherwise fly under most people’s radar and go unappreciated. Now, it’s not only Maginhawa movie-goers who get to enjoy the vast range of Philippine cinema, as Cinema Centenario’s MOOV aspires to create a “multi-sectoral online community” of movie lovers.

Head onto the official MOOV website to check out their latest releases. As of now, the site only has a handful of short films and documentary, but hopes to expand its film catalog come the next months. Remember, the site just launched so it’s only starting to take shape.

You can also check upcoming events and join film festivals in the future, including the imminent Maginhawa Film Festival.

To watch movies, you can either log-in to buy tickets and watch films through their virtual cinema, or buy movies to watch on-demand. They have free films too, so just kick back, play the movie, and watch the best of Philippine independent cinema right from your lap.

Choose from Ang Mga Bulong sa Bituka ng Sta. Mesa, a 2015 documentary that covers the grief-stricken lives of forgotton Sta. Mesa residents; Ang mga Alingawngaw sa Panahon ng Pagpapasya, a 2015 short film chronicling the social and political plights of the “Bagong Lipunan” era; or the bizarre Santa Nena!, a 2017 short film featuring a patron saint statue that comes to life nightly and is made to be the child-bearer for the second coming of the Messiah on earth through the aid of a boy with miraculous glowing balls, among other films. Promising times, indeed.

Just want to show your love for films? You can also donate to Cinema Centenario so they can keep running their virtual counterpart.
