The local psychological thriller film “Tenement 66” is going international!
Award-winning director Rae Red‘s upcoming movie will make its world premiere at the 25th Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BiFan), which will feature a total of 257 films from 47 countries. Aside from online and offline screening of films, the South Korea-based event also has lectures, exhibitions, and concerts available to participants from July 8 to 18, 2021.
“Tenement 66” follows the story of neighbors Teban, Lea, Ron-ron who come up with the plan to rob the home of an elderly neighbor whom Lea saw steal a large amount of money. Although they manage to successfully enter the apartment, they end up being held hostage after being caught.
Francis Magundayao plays the role of Teban, Francine Diaz plays the role of Lea, and Noel Comia Jr. plays the role of Ron-ron.
In an interview with Star Magic News, Francine shared how she felt after hearing the news that their film will be included in BiFan this year.
‘Okay, masakit siya, so totoo nga.’“
Francine also said that whether their film brings home an award or not, she’s just happy that it was chosen to be part of the annual international film festival.
Napakalaking bagay na ‘yon for me, for us, sa amin nina Noel and Kuya Francis,” she said.
“Tenement 66” will also be available on the streaming app iWantTFC starting July 9, 2021.
