The first season of Netflix’s beloved period drama, Bridgerton, ended with Daphne Bridgerton’s happily ever after with Simon Basset, the Duke of Hastings. But while the story of the Bridgerton family’s eldest daughter is done, the romances of the Bridgerton siblings are far from over.
As you may know, Netflix’s Bridgerton is based on a series of books written by Julia Quinn. Each book features one of the eight Bridgerton siblings. The second book will follow the story of the family’s eldest – Anthony.

Anthony’s love interest wasn’t part of season 1 but the first look at season 2 finally introduces Kate Sharma. According to the book’s blurb, Kate is “the most meddlesome woman ever to grace a London ballroom.”
In Netflix’s first look at season 2, Anthony and Kate have an argument about Anthony’s many requirements for his future wife.
Despite the nature of their conversation, the short clip already oozes romantic tension. It seems like the romance between the two won’t be instant, but at least you’ll first get to enjoy the witty back and forth between the two leads.
No official release date has been set yet but you can definitely expect season 2 next year. Jonathan Bailey will reprise his role as Anthony Bridgerton while Simone Ashley (Sex Education) will play Kate Sharma.
