Can you believe it’s been over seventeen years since the fantasy rom-com film “13 Going On 30” premiered? This means that the 13-year-olds who watched the film when it first came out are now at the age little Jenna Rink wanted to be: “thirty, flirty, and thriving!”
Jennifer Garner and Mark Ruffalo starred in the film as Jenna and Matty, respectively, and brought to life a charming and funny story made even better with their on-screen chemistry. We can’t imagine what the movie would be like with neither of them, so it came as a surprise when Jennifer said that Mark almost left the movie at one point.
“Our first rehearsal, I think it was Mark and Judy [Greer] and me, and Judy and I were both dancers growing up and poor Mark didn’t know that,” Jennifer said during an interview with theSkimm, referring to the “Thriller” dance scene. “He came in and he hated the rehearsal process so much he almost dropped out.”
Mark also said that it took him hours to master the dance steps, while Jennifer learned them in a breeze. “It didn’t help that it took me three hours to learn what Jen mastered in about 20 minutes! 😆😂😆,” he commented on Instagram. “Matty had to be dragged out on that dance floor as well, poor guy. But all this time later he is grateful he did!”
We’re grateful he did, too, because that dance scene’s iconic! If you loved “13 Going on 30,” check out these other feel-good movies that will lift your spirits.
