Two more stars have joined the cast of the highly-anticipated “How I Met Your Mother” spinoff series, “How I Met Your Father.”
In April, it was announced that Hilary Duff will star in the show as Sophie, a mother telling her son about her life in the year 2021 and the story of how she met his father. Chris Lowell, Francia Raisa, Tom Ainsley, Tien Tran, and Suraj Sharma will also be part of the main cast as Sophie’s closest friends.
“I’m really excited to dig in and start finding out who Sophie is going to be. And the new on-screen family that I’m going to have–super exciting,” Hilary said in a video posted on Instagram.
Deadline recently announced that two more actors are set to appear in the series: “Drake & Josh” star Josh Peck and “American Gods” star Ashley Reyes.
Both Josh and Ashley will have recurring roles related to Sophie’s friends. Josh will play the role of Drew, a “handsome vice principal at Jesse’s (Chris Lowell) elementary school,” while Ashley will play the role of Hannah, “Sid’s (Suraj Sharma) girlfriend who’s a surgical resident in Los Angeles.”
The 10-episode, straight-to-series spinoff will be exclusively available on the streaming platform Hulu. A premiere date for the show has not yet been announced, but the official social media pages of “HIMYF On Hulu” shared that filming has already begun.
