In 1993, Stephen Spielberg released an iconic movie that not only launched its own franchise but permeated pop culture on so many different levels. This film was Jurassic Park. Nearly 30 years since the first film was launched, the movie franchise is still going strong.
This June 2022, the world will get witness the sixth installment in the blockbuster franchise. For now, Universal Pictures has released a special prologue for the movie. The special footage won’t be part of the upcoming flick. However, it is a separate beginning to the whole Jurassic World franchise, taking fans back millions of years to a prehistoric world when dinosaurs ruled the earth.
Jurassic World: Dominion was originally slated for a June 2021 release but like most Hollywood projects, it was delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic. It was earlier revealed that the film will include a separate beginning to the whole Jurassic World franchise, taking fans back millions of years to a prehistoric world when dinosaurs ruled the earth.
The special prologue featured the tiny Moros intrepidus, a feathered dinosaur that comes from the genus of the Tyrannosaur family. As per ScreenRant.com, other new dinosaur species that will be featured in the upcoming film include the Dreadnoughts (a sauropod similar to the Brachiosaurus), the winged Quetzalcoatlus (larger than the flying Pteranodons), Oviraptor (feathered dinosaurs that steal eggs), horned Nasutoceratops, Iguanadon, and the huge new apex predator Gigantosaurus.Â
Aside from these new dinosaur species, fans can expect Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard to reprise their roles as Owen Grady and Claire Dearing in Dominion. If you’re a fan of the original movie, guess what? Jeff Goldblum, Laura Dern, and Sam Neill are part of the film as well.
The international release of Jurassic World: Dominion may still be months away, but the prologue will surely get you hyped. Watch it for yourself to find out why people are raving about it.
