The cast also acknowledged that the film had great impact not only to pop culture but also to the lives of the young viewers who were drawn and inspired by their roles.

Kevin Surendra, who played the role of Kevin Gnapoor and was famous for his impromptu Kevin G rap, said, ” “It was the very first time that an Indian guy, who was good at math, didn’t talk like this (stereotypical Indian accent) and bobbed his head.”

Daniel Franzese, who was Damien, the gay best friend also shared that he once received a letter from a fan who was a victim of bullying for being ‘chubby’ and a ‘sissy’. The fan thanked him for representing them through his role Damien.

At the end of the clip, Lacey Chabert who is known as Gretchen Wieners on the film, used her famous slang and said, “Vote on November 3rd. That would be so fetch!”
