Obi-Wan Kenobi Announces Star-studded Cast

Hello there! Following the massive success of The Mandalorian, the Star Wars fandom has had very high expectations of the next television series from the makers of the galaxy far far away.

Among the most anticipated projects in the Star Wars universe is Obi-Wan Kenobi. Since the project was announced at the D23 Expo in 2019, Ewan McGregor has been attached to the series. McGregor played the iconic Jedi master in the Star Wars prequel films after all, and he has remained a fan-favorite character in the Star Wars universe to this day. It looks like he’s in good company as the rest of the principal cast has been revealed.

Fans already know that Harden Christensen will reprise his role as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader, and people are excited to see the former allies battle once again. Joining the cast is a lot of familiar faces, which include Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, and Kumail Nanjiani.

In case these faces look familiar to you, it’s because these thespians have made waves on their own in recent years. Ingram stole the show in 2020’s surprise Netflix limited series hit The Queen’s Gambit while Joel Edgerton has starred in massive projects such as The Great Gatsby and Netflix’s The King. Kumail Nanjiani may be known for his comedic roles, but he recently buffed up for his role in Marvel Studios’upcoming superhero flick The Eternals.

According to the Star Wars website, this Disney+ special event series is set 10 years after the dramatic events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith where Kenobi faced his greatest defeat, the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker turned evil Sith Lord Darth Vader.

Production for Obi-Wan Kenobi starts this April. The show will be available exclusively on Disney+. Needless to say, we have a good feeling about this.
