It’s love month, and with all Valentine’s Day ads and happy couples on social media, one can’t help but feel a bit bad about not being coupled up. There’s nothing wrong with being single or self-partnered as Emma Watson would call it, but if you feel a little blue, here are some flicks that will make you feel good about being blessedly single:

Legally Blonde (2001)

While Elle Woods’ original motive for entering law school was to win back the affection of her ex, her journey through Harvard made her realize how important it is to embrace the amazing things that make you unique, and that you can do anything as long as you set mind to it, with or without a partner.

500 Days of Summer (2009)

Right off the bat, the movie did say that it was not a love story. This story is a nice reminder that you can’t depend on another person to be happy. After everything, Tom Hansen realized that you can’t force somebody to love you, and that life goes on even after an excruciating breakup.

Eat Pray Love (2010)

A film that will tickle your wanderlust and possibly cause a craving for pizza and pasta, Eat Pray Love is a journey of growth, self-love, and opening your heart to loving again. This will inspire you to find yourself, and go out of your comfort zone once it’s safe to travel the world again.

Gone Girl (2014)

This mindblowing film will make you grateful that you’re single. While you may get jealous of your married peers, this is a sober reminder that things aren’t always as they seem. This twisted tale goes to show that hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.

How To Be Single (2016)

The movie title says it all, right? This hilarious flick will make you cherish your time being single. After all, you have to learn to love and appreciate yourself before you can do the same for others. This one’s a great film to watch with your friends.

Girls Trip (2017)

Another empowering comedy that will make you appreciate your friends even more, Girls Trip is about living your truth and being yourself. This feel-good flick will make you want to plan a post-pandemic getaway with your pals afterward.

Get Out (2017)

Jordan Peele’s directorial debut will make you realize how blessed you are to be single. You could’ve ended up with a crazy partner with an equally crazy family looking to transfer their rich peers’ subconscious into you. Joking aside, this one is wildly entertaining.

These movies will make you appreciate this uncoupled phase of your life, and whether you’re looking for love or embracing your single blessedness, they’re nice reminders about how you should learn to love yourself. After all, you can’t give what you don’t have, right?
