Timmy Turner passes down his fairy godparents to his cousin in a new series from Paramount Plus.

After bringing iCarly back, Paramount+ now turns its attention to giving The Fairly Oddparents its own live-action series for that sweet, sweet nostalgia kick.

As reported by The Hollywood Reporter from Nickelodeon President and CEO Brian Robbins, the beloved cartoon from our childhood is heading to Paramount Plus, with a 13-episode maiden season that will see Cosmo and Wanda return to their roles as fairy godmothers to their designated child.

According to Robbins, the show will be a “hybrid so that the fairies are animated and all the humans are live actors.” Production has already picked up in Los Angeles to meet its still-undisclosed debut date later this year.

Returning to the recording booth are Daran Norris and Susanne Blakeslee, who voice Cosmo and Wanda, respectively. For the new adaptation, the pair of godparents won’t be granting Timmy Turner’s wishes anymore; instead, they will heed the wants of one Vivian “Viv” Turner, Timmy’s cousin, and her stepbrother, Roy Ragland, who just moved into Dimmsdale and must now navigate their new lives with Cosmo and Wanda helping them through it.

Audrey Grace Marshall, who most recently played the younger version of Kaley Cuoco’s character in HBO’ The Flight Attendant, will play Viv, while Tyler Wladis from the ABC sitcom Single Parents will take on the role of Roy. They are joined by Ryan-James Hatanaka as Viv’s father Ty Turner, and Imogen Cohen as Zina Zacarias, Viv and Roy’s friend.

The upcoming live-action series is part of a planned push for Paramount Plus which sees a handful of classic cartoon series receiving their own reboots. Some of the familiar titles that are heading their way to the ViacomCBS streaming service include a revived Rugrats series, a live-action Dora the Explorer, the expanded universe of the “Avatar” franchise, and “Kamp Koral,” a spinoff series of Spongebob Squarepants.
