This is What Rosamund Pike Has To Say About Getting Photoshopped Without Her Permission

Stunning, talented, and fresh off her first-ever Golden Globes win for her performance in Netflix’s dark, twisty thriller, I Care A Lot, actress Rosamund Pike is a force to be reckoned with. You’d think with her classic beauty and fit physique, she’s already the epitome of #goals, but apparently, the British actress still deals with people photoshopping her image without her permission.

In an interview with Kelly Clarkson in The Kelly Clarkson Show, the 42-year-old beauty spilled the tea on her thoughts about having her photos doctored. Pike talked about her movie poster for Johnny English Reborn, noting that her breasts were augmented to resemble a “very impressive chest.” “In the poster for the character shot, I’ve got a really impressive chest. Which I don’t have,” she said.

She also recalled how her eyes were altered to look brown in the poster for her 2019 film Radioactive. “In Radioactive, they made my eyes brown, which I still don’t quite know why. Sort of brownie-hazel color,” she explained.

While the eye color change may not sound so offensive, she does recognize how harmful unrealistic beauty standards and the common industry practice of photoshopping are. She commented how she thinks, “we’re all losing our grip on what we really look like.”

In fact, she also opened up about a fan suggesting she edit her selfie during a flight. “I was on a flight the other day–well, when I last flew which was over a year ago–but I was on a flight with this guy and I took a selfie and he looked over my shoulder when I didn’t know and said, ‘Oh no, babe, you gotta Facetune that,'” the Gone Girl star recalled. “I said, ‘Sorry, what?’ That was my introduction to the world of Facetuning which I then realized has often happened–we are body-tuning.”

While Pike may have taken the comment with grace, it has to be noted how harmful forcing unrealistic beauty standards on other people can do a lot of damage to their sense of self-worth. Everybody has ‘flaws’ and we should all learn to love ourselves a little more.
