From Korean dramas to movies, you’ll never run out of stuff to tune into. It makes you wonder then, what’s next on Netflix?
At the TUDUM fan event, Netflix unveiled upcoming Korean original content that will grace their platform in the coming months. Before the year ends, you can expect three new dramas:
To be released on October 15, 2021, My Name is a thriller-noir drama about a revenge-driven woman as she infiltrates the police under the guidance of a powerful crime boss. This action-packed drama will show a different side of Han So Hee (Nevertheless and The World of the Married) as her character will have to face off numerous adversaries.
Adapted from the South Korean webtoon Hell, Netflix’s Hellbound is a thriller drama set in a world where unearthly beings deliver bloody condemnations by sending people to hell. The first three episodes of Hellbound already debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival, but the series is set to premier on Netflix on November 19, 2021. Hellbound is directed by Yeon Sang-Ho (Train to Busan) and is set to be one of the biggest Korean original releases on Netflix this year.
The Silent Sea
Coming this December 2021, The Silent Sea is a sci-fi mystery thriller that follows a scientist on a lunar mission to recover mysterious samples from an abandoned station. The series is based on a 2014 short film, The Sea of Tranquility. Expect to see familiar faces because this drama stars Gong Yoo (Goblin, Train to Busan) and Bae Doona (Kingdom, Sense8).
