After leaving showbiz to tend to her pregnancy over a year ago, singer-actress Janella Salvador has finally returned to the limelight, specifically to the “ASAP Natin ‘To” stage last Sunday, with a soothing song that could have been a lullaby to her baby Jude.

Janella stepped into an elegant yellow ensemble to sing her rendition of “You Are My Sunshine.”

During her post-performance interview, she shared with ASAP Natin ‘To hosts Ogie Alcasid and Regine Velasquez how excited she was to return to one of her passions which is singing. “I was actually super nervous at first. But it’s really good to be back and to see everyone again and to be able to do what I love to do again,” Janella said to Regine.

Asked about her new role as a mom, Janella said to Ogie: “I feel like everyday now, when I wake up, I have a purpose in life, I have a reason to wake up every morning. I feel like a whole different person, like I’m more responsible now.”

Janella stepped back from her celebrity status in the early half of 2020 due to then-undisclosed reasons. She was last seen performing in the lead role in the Maalala Mo Kaya episode “Tren” which was the show’s second-highest rated episode of the year. She and partner Markus Paterson flew to the United Kingdom in September 2020, one month before giving birth to baby Jude.

It was last February when Janella, together with partner Markus and baby Jude, flew back to the Philippines for the first time since her baby’s birth.
