BTS Dazzles as Smart’s Newest Ambassadors

The BTS family just got bigger with the release of Smart Communication’s official commercial. The partnership, which was announced earlier in January 2021, had much to show for with members RM, V, J-Hope, Jin, Suga, Jimin, Jungkook dancing along to hit songs “Dynamite” and “Life Goes On.”

In what could almost be a music video, the international pop stars can be seen walking up and down seven different sets of stairs in varying settings. From black and white landscapes to narrow neon-lit rooms, the famous faces of BTS make sure to groove and jive in every scene.

The video was littered with inspirational and hopeful messages like “Keep Learning”, “Keep Moving”, and “Keep Chasing Your Passion”, which align with the band’s vision for positivity and empowerment.

According to Jane Basas, Senior Vice President and Head of Consumer Wireless Business at Smart, the stairs present in the video are a representation of the “challenges we overcome in our lives.” The seven different types of stairs are also a nod to each member’s unique passions and interests.

The two-minute video is part of Smart’s “Live Your Passion with Purpose” campaign, which is geared towards encouraging Filipino youth to “immerse in their interests” and “succeed with their pursuits.”

Smart specifically chose to collaborate with the Grammy-nominated band due to their powerful impact on the new generation. A statement released by Smart President and CEO, Alfredo S. Panlilio, said: “BTS emerged as the biggest band in the world because of their meaningful and uplifting music that brings hope and encouragement to fans, especially in the bleakest of times.”

Other Smart executives also cited the group’s teamwork, hard work, and creation of meaningful connections as similar values that match well with what Smart hopes to bring to customers.

The company also remains hopeful that BTS may soon be able to conduct a virtual show for fans. Currently, the band has a “fully booked” schedule.

For now, ARMYs can enjoy a new mobile lightstick feature and a microsite that Smart has launched that contains exclusive BTS content. Photocards will also be released, so stay tuned for that!
