Cardi B has received her second diamond certification from the Recording Industry Association of America, making her the first female rapper in history to have more than one diamond record!
The 29-year-old rapper’s song with Maroon 5, “Girls Like You,” has sold more than 10 million units, making it qualified to receive a diamond certification. This song is Cardi B’s second diamond record following her 2017 hit “Bodak Yellow,” which became a certified diamond record in March 2021.
“Wow, I got two Diamond records! Thank you sooo much [Maroon 5] for including me [in] this song,” she posted on Twitter. “This is the song I cater to my daughter every time I perform it. I’m forever grateful.”
Aside from Cardi B, Lady Gaga is the only other artist with 2 diamond certifications. Eminem, Ed Sheeran, Imagine Dragons, Katy Perry, Post Malone, and Justin Bieber all have 3 each, while Bruno Mars has the most number of diamond tracks with 5.
Cardi B also recently received another Grammy nomination in the “Best Rap Performance” category for the song “Up.” This is her fourth nomination in the same category, and her ninth Grammy nomination overall.
