TikTok is creating a music channel in partnership with SiriusXM called TikTok Radio. It’s essentially a radio version of the app’s “For You” feed that’s hosted by some of their talented creators. Artists like Lil Nas X, Bella Poarch, Normani, and Ed Sheeran have already been tapped by TikTok to present on the channel.
TikTok Radio is the “First-of-its-Kind”
“Our groundbreaking new channel with TikTok is a first-of-its-kind, capturing the pulse of global music culture, vibrancy and vitality found on the entertaining social platform and recreated as a full-time music channel on live national radio and our streaming platforms,” announced Scott Greenstein, President and Chief Content Officer of SiriusXM. “Tiktok creators will be delivering new audio experiences for our listeners as they tap into the latest music trends on TikTok,” he continued.
Ole Obermann, Global Head of Music of TikTok said they’re excited to launch this new avenue for artists and creators to reach new audiences. “Now SiriusXM subscribers will have a new road to discover the latest trends in music and get a first listen to tomorrow’s musical superstars. The channel captures the song-breaking music culture that creates so much joy and entertainment on TikTok through video in an all-audio format.”
Creators Deeply Involved in the Channel
Creators like 8Illy (@8illy), Cat Haley (@itscathaley), HINDZ (@hindzsight), Lamar Dawson (@dirrtykingofpop), and Taylor Cassidy (@taylorcassidyj) will present music and share insights behind the trends on the app. Listeners can tune in to discover the top 10 trending songs in the community on “The TikTok Radio Trending Ten” segment every week. Resident DJs, DJ Habibeats (@djbabibeats), and DJ CONST (@erinconstantineofficial) will SPIN live on the app and on TikTok Radio every week.
Of course, trending songs are not the only music listeners will hear on TikTok Radio. The station will also play throwbacks and new releases from up-and-coming artists. One of the highlights of the platform is the “Creator Invasion” segment, where famous personalities and music artists will guest.
