It’s the perfect soundtrack for when you’re in your feels.
Welsh singer-songwriter Jamie Miller has finally released his debut EP Broken Memories. All six tracks bear Miller’s signature: soulful vocals and personal yet universal lyrics.
Miller rose to prominence in 2017 when he joined The Voice UK as part of Jennifer Hudson’s team. He sailed through every round and placed third. After the show, Miller covered hits by Adele and Lewis Capaldi. When those covers caught Khloé Kardashian’s attention, Atlantic Records came calling.
Broken Memories includes “Here’s Your Perfect,” Jamie’s breakthrough hit. It spent 13 weeks on the Billboard Global Excl. US chart, which ranks songs based on data from over 200 territories. To date, the song has amassed over 280 million global streams. Miller co-wrote it with Gian Stone, who has worked with Justin Bieber and Nick Jonas.
“I wanted to write something real and genuine. I wrote ‘Here’s Your Perfect’ like I was writing in my journal, which was cool. Working with Gian Stone was a pleasure. He’s one of the nicest guys but also one of the most well-respected, so to have him want to work with me was such a dream come true. It’s cool to have validation from producers like Gian that I’m good enough to be where I am today,” he says.
Miller’s other hit, “I Lost Myself In Loving You,” is also on this EP. It went viral on TikTok even before its official release. A sparse piano arrangement supports his soul-stirring vocal performance in this song. Miller says it’s about opening your heart to someone who deceives you.
Broken Memories also has songs like the earnest “Last Call” and Miller’s latest single, “It Is What It Is.” Cal Shapiro and Louis Schoorl co-wrote the song with Miller, and they produced it too.
The story of Jamie Miller
“This EP is my story. It’s about beautiful moments, hardships, and things I never expected,” said Miller. “These last few years have been an emotional rollercoaster. But now I have a story to tell that many people will relate to.”
Listeners will enjoy his gut-wrenching high notes and poetic lyrics. The only way to get hurt the right way is by listening to this EP.
