And it isn’t just any guitar – it’s the same guitar that Mayer featured in the music video of his latest single, “Last Train Home.”
In a sweet gesture that made our teenage hearts flutter, BLACKPINK’s Rosé has received a gift of a pink electric guitar from John Mayer for covering one of the latter’s most popular songs.
The 25-year-old Korean-Australian singer took to Instagram on July 16 to flaunt fresh images of the brand-new guitar – a $2,000 PRS Silver Sky electric guitar in Roxy Pink – which was accompanied with a handwritten note from Mayer: “Rosé! I should be thanking YOU! (so thank you.)”
Rosé then responded with some sweet words of her own: “Life is complete,” read the BLACKPINK vocalist’s caption, with Mayer tagged in her Instagram story.
The special gift comes after the Rosé impressed the Grammy-winning artist with her own rendition of Mayer’s “Slow Dancing in a Burning Room” on the June 29 episode of the South Korean variety show Sea of Hope. The cover apparently impressed Mayer, who called it “gorgeous” while retweeting a video of the song cover and tagging both BLACKPINK and Rosé.
And for all of you eagle-eyed Mayer fans out there, yes, the pink guitar is the same as the one shown in the music video of his latest single “Last Train Home” released last month.
As for Rosé, she also released her first solo single album, R, last March. Within just a little over a month, the album has already sold more than half a million copies, making her the first South Korean female soloist to breach the half-million sales mark in 19 years.
