In an announcement that served as the “heartbreak anthem” for their fans, Little Mix revealed their plans to take a break after their upcoming Confetti tour next year. The much-deserved breather will be the trio’s first since breaking into the scene 10 years ago.

In social media, members Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Perrie Edwards, and Jade Thirlwall shared on Thursday, December 2, that they will be stepping back from the British girl group to focus on their other endeavors.

“We wanted to let you all know that after the Confetti tour in April/May next year we are going to be taking a break from Little Mix,” the group wrote on Twitter. “It’s been 10 amazing years, a wonderful non-stop adventure, and we feel the time is right to take a break so we can recharge and work on some other projects.”

The Confetti tour kicks off on April 9 in Belfast, Ireland, and runs until May 14 in London.

To be clear, though, the hiatus does not in any way suggest they’re splitting up: “Little Mix are here to stay. We have plans for more music, tours, and performance in the future. We’ve made so many incredible memories with you all, and we can’t wait to make so many more.”

What they’re cooking up in their own corners are for us to find out, but we may have been given a glimpse. Last November, Biff Stannard, Little Mix’s producer, let slip that all of the girls are planning to release their respective solo materials.

I love the fact that their voices have just gotten better and better. I’m so excited for all. I think they’re all doing a solo record,” said Stannard while speaking on the Such a Good Feeling music show, before realizing his slip of the tongue. “You might have to cut that out. But as far as I know, they are.”

On Saturday, Little Mix celebrated the 10th anniversary of their glorious win at the eighth season of The X Factor. Through a touching video posted on social media, each member reminisced their best moments while giving a glimpse at their separate hiatuses.

10 years since we won The X Factor,” the group wrote in the caption. “The most life-changing moment ever for all of us. Thank you for all the support over the last decade xxx.”

Since forming in 2011, Pinnock, Nelson, Thirlwall, and Nelson, who left the group last year, has released six studio albums together for which they’ve won three Brit Awards. They’re also considered one of the greatest girl groups of all time, having sold over 60 million records worldwide.
