Songs That Got Stuck in Our Head This 2020 Because of TikTok

This 2020, particularly during quarantine, TikTok became one of the biggest social media platforms. It came to the point that many of the songs used on the app – may it be for a popular TikTok dance or some other trend – have gotten so viral that they’ve become some of the tracks we’ve gotten stuck in our heads the most this year.

Here are just a few songs that gave us some intense last song syndrome this 2020 because of TikTok:

Bored in the House by Tyga ft. Curtis Roach

This started out as an original audio by Curtis Roach that was used by TikTokers for everything from dances to showing off the weird ways they’re passing time in lockdown. It became so popular that Tyga made a single out of it featuring Curtis Roach.

Lottery by K Camp

The “Renegade” dance that went with this song was created by Jalaiah Harmon. Harmon wasn’t credited until months after it went viral, but when she finally was, she was invited to perform at the NBA All-Star game and on Ellen because of how iconic the trend was.

death bed (coffee for your head) by Powfu feat. beabadoobee

This audio is mostly used for wholesome content on the site. This can be anything from users surprising their loved ones with gifts and grand gestures or kissing their best friend for the first time to cute animal videos and personal achievements.

Say So by Doja Cat

The dance trend that went with this catchy hit became so popular that Doja Cat even did the TikTok choreography in her official music video where the creator of the trend, Haley Sharpe, was also featured.

Savage by Megan Thee Stallion

This dance trend was created by TikToker Keara Wilson and went so viral that the moves became recognizable even when others posted their attempt at the choreography on other platforms.  The choreography was even featured in the official lyric video!

Laxed (Siren Beat) by Jawsh 685

Created by Joshua Stylah, this addicting instrumental was first used in videos where TikTokers show off their culture’s traditional wear. Now, there are millions of videos of people just doing the simple dance. Jason Derulo eventually sampled it in “Savage Love,” and the controversy that came with it just made the song even more popular.

WAP by Cardi B ft. Megan Thee Stallion

This song made waves before it became a TikTok trend, but when the WAP Dance, created by Brian Esperon, went viral on the app, it became all the more difficult to get the song out of our heads.

Stunnin’ by Curtis Waters ft. Harm Franklin

TikTokers used this audio for the trend where users showed off what outfits they would wear if they were in a certain show or movie. Whether or not you love these fashion TikToks, you’ll probably find yourself humming the tune after a few views.

Supalonely by Benee ft. Gus Dapperton

Another TikTok dance with a catchy song that was hard to stop singing whether or not you actually participated in the trend was Supalonely. With the cute choreography created by Zoi Lerma, it’s easy to get sucked into watching dozens of these videos and end up with the song replaying in your head.
