Taylor Swift has been blindsiding us with surprise releases lately so rumors shouldn’t shock us anymore — except, of course, when they add Adele into the mix.

Fans of both superstars went wild on Friday after reports claiming that Swift and Adele appear to have been mutually registered under the Society of European Stage Authors and Composers (SESAC) for a song tentatively titled “Broken Hearts,” with an alternative title, “Shattered Hearts.” The pair are listed as writers “Taylor Alison Swift” and “Adele Laurie Blue Adkins.”

From the news, fans have also speculated whether the track is one of the songs Swift will pull “from the vault,” referring to her deep repository of songs intended for earlier albums but didn’t make the cut. Taylor used the same phrase when she re-released Fearless, which ended up having six additional songs, then claimed the same for the imminent re-issue of Red, which she plans to pack with 30 songs.

Given Adele and Swift have been friends for a good three years now, it’s not unlikely to happen.

While Swift has graced us with two surprise records in the form of Folklore and Evermore back in 2020, the Chasing Pavements songstress hasn’t surprised us for quite a while now — since 2015’s 25 to be exact.

The closest we’ve ever gotten to a clue was Adele’s black-and-white post for her 31st birthday back in 2019, where she wrote in her reflection that “30 will be a drum n bass record to spite you,” which was enough to turn the gears inside expectant fans’ minds.

Of her relationship with Swift, Adele once shared with TIME during an interview for her cover story that the 31-year-old inspired her to remove her own music from Spotify due to compensation issues. “I love her — how powerful she is. We’ll get lumped together now because of it, but I think we would both feel the ability to say yes or no to things even if we weren’t successful.”

Whether the collaboration is a part of the soon-to-be-re-released Red remains to be seen. Regardless, we’ll never say no to a Swift-Adele song!
