Another boy band is making a comeback!
The British-Irish group The Wanted, comprising Max George, Siva Kaneswaran, Jay McGuiness, Tom Parker, and Nathan Sykes will reunite for a special performance this month, their first one together since 2014.
They will perform live at Tom’s “Stand Up To Cancer” charity concert entitled “Inside My Head” at the Royal Albert Hall on September 20, 2021.
Jay said that the band has already talked about reuniting in the previous years, but their busy schedules have made it difficult for them to do.
“We have been talking off and on for a few years now about getting back together… but have all been working on other projects at different times so it didn’t happen,” he said. “This is all about having fun with our mates, no pressure, just fun.”
In an interview with The Mirror, Max said that Tom, who was diagnosed with brain cancer in October 2020, made this reunion possible. “I think Tom was the driving force… We had a couple of conversations driven by Tom.”
Aside from having a comeback performance this month, The Wanted will also release an album with their greatest hits (plus a new song!) on November 12, 2021. And along with this album, they will be having their “Most Wanted – The Greatest Hits” tour in the United Kingdom in 2022.
“Wow, today has been absolutely crazy! We can’t thank you enough for the reaction our announcement has had, we’re completely blown away by all of your support and the response,” the group posted on Instagram.
