They’re Back! Check Out Red Velvet’s Comeback Schedule

In Partnership with FanLife

After an extensive hiatus, K-pop girl group Red Velvet is back this August to celebrate their 7th anniversary and upcoming mini-album!

The hiatus, speculated to be caused by band member Irene’s bullying scandal, had the girls on pause from band activities for more than a year and a half.

All is not lost, however, as they all engaged in solo projects up until recently.

Seulgi became a global brand ambassador for the Italian brand Salvatore Ferragamo, Wendy released her first solo EP titled “Like Water” and became a new DJ on SBS, Joy also released her first solo EP, “Hello,” and Yeri started acting on the fantasy romance web drama Blue Birthday.

Irene, on the other hand, has apologized for her controversies and laid low while the scandal blew over.

In light of their comeback this month, the group announced back in July the release of the Queens Mystic General Store, a project meant to help fans reminisce in preparation for the group’s anniversary. The “store”, which was posted on Instagram, displayed classic Red Velvet artifacts and costumes from past music videos.

Then on August 1st (the date they first debuted in 2014), the quintet held an online fanmeet on VLIVE to celebrate the past 7 years with fans. They also released a calendar earlier this week, detailing the dates for important drops leading up to their comeback.

In between a long line of teasers, ReVeluvs will finally get to enjoy Red Velvet’s comeback on August 16th. The mini-album, titled Queendom, will be the group’s sixth and will also feature six new tracks.

Fans will also get to experience an online fanmeet called inteRView vol. 7: Queendom on August 16th.
