SB19 is just starting.
After releasing a successful second single in 2019 and gaining international recognition in 2020, the group is welcoming 2021 with new opportunities, such as a partnership with online shopping app Lazada.
The Filipino boy band, composed of members Josh (Josh Cullen Santos), Justin (Justin De Dios), Ken (Felip Jhon Suson), Sejun (John Paulo Nase), and Stell (Stellvester Ajero), caught the attention of fans after releasing their song “Go Up” in 2019. Aside from their music, the group was also praised for their well-executed dance performances.
Like other successful groups, they always express their gratitude to their fans, whom they call “A’TIN,” pronounced as “eighteen.”
Group leader Sejun explained the connection of the official fandom name to their group’s name: “Siyempre, 18 muna bago [ang] 19. ‘Pag walang 18 (A’TIN), hindi makakarating sa 19. (Of course, it’s 18 first before 19. If there’s no 18, we wouldn’t even reach 19.)”
Just this week, SB19 bagged three awards at the Wish Music Awards. They won the Wish Pop Song of the Year award for their song Love Goes, Wish Group of the Year award, and the Wishers’ Choice award.
Perhaps, one of SB19’s top accomplishments as of date is making it to the Billboard Social 50 Chart in 2020, where they ranked 6th, joining international acts like Billie Eilish, Black Pink, Ariana Grande, and BTS–which topped the list.
On the morning of January 20, 2021, the #NasaLazadaYan music video premiered on the Lazada Philippines YouTube channel.
SB19 said that the group enjoyed collaborating with Mimiyuuuh and Lazada for the project: “Add to cart? Pwede add to heart din? Watch and support our newest music video with @lazadaph and your ghorl @mimiyuuuh! We really had fun making this.”
