Rockoustic Princess Yeng Constantino is back with more inspiring music.
The song “Kumapit,” which was composed by Yeng herself, arranged by Tommy Katigbak, and produced by ABS-CBN Music‘s creative director Jonathan Manalo, was released on June 11, 2021. It was also co-produced with Reverb Worship of CBN Asia.
Yeng said that she hopes to inspire people to remain faithful through her music. “Sana habang pinapakinggan niyo ‘to mabigyan kayo nito ng pag-asa, lakas ng loob [at] kalakasan. Laging nandyan ang Diyos para sa ‘tin! Kumapit lang tayo sa Kanya. (May listening to this song bring you hope, courage, and strength. God is always there for us! Just have faith in Him,)” she said.

Yeng shared that the feeling of uncertainty that we’re all experiencing during these extraordinary times is what inspired her to write the song.
“Ang inspirasyon ko po ng pagsulat ng ‘Kumapit’ ay tayo, tayo po na nasa gitna ng isang unknown na kaaway, itong pandemya. Wala pa pong nakaranas sa generation natin nito eh, and everyone is going through so much darkness. (My inspiration in writing this song is us, all of us who are fighting against an [invisible] enemy in this pandemic. No one in our generation has experienced something like this, and everyone is going through so much darkness.)”
“It wasn’t hard na humugot ng inspirasyon doon dahil kahit po ako, parte nung mga taong nakakaranas nito. (It wasn’t hard to draw inspiration from that because I’m one of those people who experienced it,)” she added.
The song “Kumapit” is Yeng’s first release this year, which succeeds the uplifting track “Dasal” from 2020. Her other latest songs are “Kapag Ako Ay Nagmahal” and “Ikaw Ang Akin,” which were both part of the OST for the 2019 Metro Manila Film Festival entry “Write About Love.”
