The new hosts replace TVJ today, June 5
The new “Eat Bulaga!” hosts have been formally revealed to the public.
Sparkle artists Paolo Contis, Betong Sumaya, Buboy Villar, Cassy Legaspi, and Mavy Legaspi opened the show today, June 5, 2023. They are also joined by Alexa Miro and Sparkle singers Lyra Micolob, Dani Ozaraga, and Mel Caluag.
The new “Eat Bulaga!” hosts make their debut a few days after the controversial “disengagement” of the original hosts from TAPE Inc., the producer of “Eat Bulaga!”
In the opening spiel, Paolo continues using the title “Eat Bulaga!” and the word “Dabarkads,” their term of endearment for the show’s loyal viewers.
He welcomes the viewers: “Dabarkads, Tara, Eat Bulaga na!”
Paolo then adds, “Kayo po ang dahilan kaya tuluy-tuloy lang! Nandito tayo dahil gusto natin, araw-araw masaya.“
The hosts then start giving away prizes to the studio audience, such as cash prizes and new mobile phones.
The new Eat Bulaga! sparked opinions and reactions from netizens that the show and its hosts were trending on Twitter.
TVJ leaves TAPE Inc.
On Wednesday, May 31, “Eat Bulaga!” icons and original hosts Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon (TVJ) made their announcement that they are saying goodbye to TAPE Inc. through a Facebook Live from their page.
According to them, TAPE Inc. did not allow them to go live on television despite reporting to the studio that day, which made them finally decide to leave the production.
This was followed by the resignation of all “Eat Bulaga!” hosts, including Jose Manalo, Wally Bayola, Paolo Ballesteros, Allan K, Ryzza Mae Dizon, Ryan Agoncillo, Pauleen Luna, and Maine Mendoza.
