At least, not yet.

That’s what Charlie Dizon herself clarified on Wednesday after news broke that ABS-CBN and BBC Studios have inked a deal to remake Dr. Foster, BBC’s award-winning psychological drama, and that she and veteran actress Judy Ann Santos have been cast for the lead roles of the local adaptation.

Social media posts from as far back as January, and again made rounds earlier this week, claimed that Dizon will fill the shoes of the mistress, while Judy Ann Santos was reportedly picked to play the role of Dr. Gemma Foster

“Actually, wala pa talaga sa akin nasasabi na ganoon. Nagugulat na lang din ako sa mga balitang lumalabas. Pero wala pa talaga,” she said per ABS-CBN News.

When asked if she would accept the role, Dizon nonetheless replied in the affirmative, adding that she would accept the role since she had already seen the show’s South Korean adaptation, “The World of the Married.” In South Korea, the show set a record for being the highest-rated drama in cable TV history

In any case, the show’s a go, and production is set to begin later this year. According to the joint press release by ABS-CBN and BBC, the show is set to be produced by Dreamscape Entertainment. ABS-CBN’s adaptation makes the Philippines the sixth country to remake the series, after South Korea, Russia, France, Turkey, and India.

The original BBC series ran from 2015 to 2017, and has won multiple awards for television, including two Best Drama awards from the National Television Awards, and several Best Actress nods for Suranne Jones’ portrayal of the titular character.
