The Fil-Am singer-songwriter won several awards – and a special moment with BTS!

From being a Disney star, Olivia Rodrigo has come a long way. After a whirlwind 2021 thanks to her smash hit “driver’s license” and critically-acclaimed album Sour, everything came to fruition at the 2022 GRAMMY awards.

She was nominated for the first time in 7 categories, walking away with Best New Artist, Best Pop Solo Performance (for “driver’s license”), and Best Pop Vocal Album (for “Sour”).

When she received the Grammy for Best New Artist, she was shocked but grateful.

“Thank you so much to the Recording Academy, this is my biggest dream come true! Thank you to everyone at Interscope,” she giddily said as she began her acceptance speech.

After thanking members of her team, she also took a moment to thank her parents and her best friends.

However, there was another moment that had people buzzing.

During BTS’s performance of their song ‘Butter’, the opening sequence featured a skit. BTS’ Kim Taehyung, better known as V, leaned close to Olivia while seated at a table and whispered something in her ear before the song began.

It was the whisper heard around the world, with both V and Olivia trending on Twitter moments after. A day or so later, fans were still talking about it on social media as well as on Weverse, a Korean app operated by the K-Pop superstars’ label.

What V told Olivia remains up in the air. In response to one fan, he said he’d whispered that BTS member RM wasn’t in need of a driver’s license. To another, he revealed that he said, “it was just important business.”

No matter what it was, there’s no doubt Olivia had an excellent night in more ways than one!
